The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Maintenance Technician - Truck & Transport Mechanic to join our Mobile Maintenance Team in Voisey's Bay, Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation. Additionally, in this position you will: Service, inspect, and repair various makes and models of diesel-powered medium and light-duty equipment, as well as small gasoline powered recreational and utility vehicles. Ensure safe operating conditions of the medium and light vehicle fleet. Diagnose and repair driveline, fuel, exhaust, cooling, electrical, or any other medium or light vehicle issues. The Opportunity We are currently seeking an Assistant Shift Engineer to join our Site Services Team in Voisey's Bay, Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation. Relocation to the province of Newfoundland & Labrador will be required for this role. This is a permanent on-site position, working a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotation. As an Assistant Shift Engineer you will be responsible for operating Power Generation Facilities with a Registered Pressure Plant under direction of the Shift Engineer and supervision of the Chief Power Engineer. Your experience and skills will be familiar with the power plant and the various control systems used throughout, ensuring that the power plant's generators, boilers, and auxiliaries are operated at a world class standard. The Assistant Shift Engineer will also ensure that effective Safety & Environmental procedures are followed in this area of responsibility. Additionally, in this position you will: Perform hourly and daily checks of the various systems within the power plant and the remote emergency generation locations and monitor this data looking for anomalies and direct or perform the necessary maintenance to resolve the problem. Perform all minor maintenance required to keep the main diesel generators and boilers operating at maximum efficiency. This will include oil and filter changes, minor tune-ups, fluid sampling, heating system maintenance and all other maintenance as required. Perform all housekeeping duties required to maintain a clean and safe working environment in and around the power plant and the emergency generator locations. This will include such things as: cleaning floors and walls, wiping down engines and boilers, painting, cleaning the control room and proper storage of tools and supplies. Lockout Power Plant and associated equipment as per Standard Operating Procedures and verifying Zero Energy. The Opportunity We are currently seeking (2) Underground Supervisors (Bulk Material Handling) to join our Underground Operations team in Voisey's Bay, Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation. This is a permanent on-site position, working a 2 week on, 2 week out rotation. As an Underground Mine Operations Supervisor, you are responsible to lead and coach the team's performance through established processes and procedures to achieve assigned objectives. You will work to continuously improve the effectiveness of the team while maintaining a safe and positive working environment. In this role, you will: Assign tasks to team members so that work is completed in a safe way; Use practical judgment, within limits set by the Mine Manager, to handle process and social problems effectively as they occur; Coach and guide team members to improve their skills and performance; Hold team accountable for safety, behavior, housekeeping, collaboration, and integrity; Work within budget, guidelines, and standards to execute Safety and Production Plans as established by the Superintendent or designate; Work collectively with peers and cross functionally with colleagues in engineering, geology, maintenance, and services to meet objectives of the operation; Request training in skills development where required and communicate needs to the Superintendent. About You Education High-school diploma or equivalent. Underground Common Core (First Line Production Supervisor or Hard Rock Miner). Graduate of Mining Technologist program, or similar, is preferred. Experience A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in underground mining environment. Experience with Bulk Material Handling. Experience in an underground backfill operation is considered an asset. Skills Ability to decipher and prioritize multiple tasks. Outstanding communication and presentation skills. Hold people accountable for working within boundaries of Vale's policies and procedures. Courage - demonstrate a reasonable trust in personal abilities.
