The Opportunity We are currently seeking an Inventory Analyst, Local 2020-05 to join our Inventory Management Team in Sudbury Operations. This is a permanent position covered under the Collective Agreement between Vale and the Local 2020-05 United Steelworkers. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data, making improvement recommendations, problem solving, planning and prioritizing work with specific deadlines, coordinating tasks and activates with other departments, creating replenishment requisitions for warehouse inventory. The incumbent will provide ongoing support to warehousing, procurement, and operation. The incumbent will coordinate initiatives and provide an excellent standard of service that will meet the needs of the business. Additionally, in this position you will: Levels simulation for warehouse inventory planning; data collection using Access tools to gather all simulation inputs, understanding of the inputs is essential. Independent Scenario Analysis; evaluate outputs of the tool, recommend and communicate alternatives. Accuracy and understanding of the data and underlying issues are important factors in making the correct decisions as changes may impact operations. Planning for future inventory requirements; looking forward to anticipate inventory demand anomalies and making adjustments to inventory levels as required. This will require close working relationship with operational areas. Set inventory parameters; based on analysis and recommendations. System maintenance; material master code changes/updates. Create Replenishment requisitions for warehouse inventory demands based on set parameters, taking into consideration anomalies and simulation analysis.
